This dish in excellent vintage condition. There is no apparent evidence repair to this item. There is very little to fault with this piece, unless one were to be hyper-critical. Oblique lighting reveals no evidence of crazing (craquelure); and upon close examination, the only area with any notable scratches or scuffs that I could find on this piece were located towards “the eye.” (Under normal viewing conditions, this area could be mistaken for a smudge, but when viewed with a loupe, the marks are confirmed to be a series of very fine scuffs — exaggerated in Picture 6.) The “tail” of the plate also has a few microscopic areas of pinpoint color loss, which again, under normal viewing conditions would likely be mistaken for simple dust (Picture 2, 4 o’clock, and exaggerated in Picture 7). The unglazed bottom is reasonably clean, save for three areas of light brown staining (possibly some errant drips of the brown glaze that was used). There area also two (expected) kiln marks at opposite ends of the base. This collector’s item would be at home in any mid-century modern design scheme. This dish is unnumbered but bears the “Gustavsberg” stamp and anchor logo on its underside. Shipping: The listed shipping is for buyers in the contiguous United States.
